Anger Management Class Gone Wrong

A recent story in an ABC News blog described a stabbing in an anger management class. One female attacked another in this court ordered group in Washington; with a 3 inch knife no less! Soon anger management classes will require pat downs and metal detectors.
Yes, I’m going to poke fun at this insane story because its irony demands it.
How could this happen you say? Since the attacker threatened not only harm on the victim, but also death to all her relatives, it’s pretty clear there is some underlying mental health issue at play here. Drugs, sure. Perhaps untreated Bipolar Disorder or Schizophrenia. Or just plain old bat-shit crazy. Oh, yeah, the precipitating factor was an episode of Dr. Phil that the group was watching. I nurtured a pretty healthy level of disrespect for the man myself.
Can’t you just see the Letterman monologue now?
Well if ever there was going to be a place where anger was expressed it would be in these classes. Having lead many such groups myself over the years, I have experienced it first hand. However, I never let my group members stab each other - something I am quite proud of. Who knew that would be measure for which my group skills were judged successful!
